Welcome to the website of Spielwiese.

Spielwiese is Berlin’s first board game library with café and shop, located in the beautiful Simon-Dach neighborhood in Friedrichshain. Since 2006, everything here has revolved around playing games. For a small fee, you can borrow board games and enjoy them either in our cozy café or at home. Our collection includes both new and pre-owned titles, including unusual games that you may not find in conventional game stores.

Spielwiese offers more than an extensive game selection. We regularly organize events centered around gaming, where you can meet new people and spend time together. Our café is also available for private game parties. If you are planning a distinctive celebration with friends or colleagues, you are welcome to reserve Spielwiese exclusively.

Es stehen sechs Tische für je 4–6 Personen sowie zwei 2-Personen-Tische bereit. Für größere Gruppen lassen sich die Tische flexibel zusammenschieben. Bei uns ist jede:r herzlich willkommen. Egal, ob ihr aus Berlin, Deutschland oder der ganzen Welt kommt, unabhängig von eurer Religion, Geschlechtsorientierung oder politischen Einstellung – hier könnt ihr euch treffen und eine schöne Zeit verbringen. Ihr habt auch die Möglichkeit, Spiele mit nach Hause zu nehmen und dort mit euren Liebsten zu spielen.

Sustainability is an important principle for us. In addition to using green electricity, our drinks menu mainly features products with short delivery routes and, whenever possible, organic origin. We aim to avoid products from large international corporations and instead support small local suppliers and cooperatives. Our game lending model also follows this principle. Games are played regularly rather than gathering dust on shelves. By trying games before purchasing them, you can decide whether they suit your preferences and avoid unnecessary purchases.

At Spielwiese, you will find games from almost every genre, with the exception of role-playing games, tabletop systems, and collectible card games. Our aim is to offer a diverse selection and introduce you to engaging titles.

Die Spielwiese ist am Montag von 18-23 Uhr, am Freitag von 19-24 Uhr und am Samstag von 15-24 Uhr geöffnet. Am Montag ist offener Spieleabend, d.h. die Spielgebühr beträgt 5€ pro Person für den ganzen Abend. Am Freitag und Samstag beträgt die Spielgebühr pro Person 4€ für die erste Stunde und jede weitere Stunde 2€.
