Welcome to the Playground website!

Spielwiese is Berlin's first Ludothek with café and shop in the beautiful Simon-Dach-Kiez in the Friedrichshain district. Here, everything revolves around playing games! For a small fee, you can borrow board games from us and play them either in the cosy café or in the comfort of your own home. Our assortment includes both new and used games, including unusual ones you won't find in regular game shops. If we don't have a particular game or spare part in stock, we are happy to order it for you.

But Spielwiese offers more than just a wide range of games. We regularly organise gaming events where you can meet new people and have a great time together. Our café is also available for private gaming parties. If you are planning a unique celebration with your friends or colleagues, you are welcome to book the Spielwiese for yourself.

Everyone is welcome here. Whether you come from Berlin, Germany or all over the world, regardless of your religion, gender orientation or political views, you can meet here and have a good time. You also have the opportunity to take games home and play them with your loved ones.

We attach great importance to sustainability. In addition to using green electricity, we mainly offer products on our drinks menu that have short delivery routes and are organic whenever possible. We try to avoid products from the big international corporations and instead rely on small local suppliers and cooperatives. Our game rental also follows the principle of sustainability. The games are used regularly and do not collect dust unnecessarily on the shelf. In addition, you can try out a game before you buy it to decide whether it suits your preferences and thus avoid making a bad purchase.

At Spielwiese, everyone can find the right game. We carry games from every genre, with the exception of role-playing games, tabletop systems and collectible card games. Our aim is to offer you a varied selection and to inspire you with exciting games.
