Spielwiese is Berlin’s first board game library with café and shop, located in the beautiful Simon-Dach neighborhood in Friedrichshain. Since 2006, everything here has revolved around playing games. For a small fee, you can borrow board games and enjoy them either in our cozy café or at home. Our collection includes both new and pre-owned titles, including unusual games that you may not find in conventional game stores.

Spielwiese offers more than an extensive game selection. We regularly organize events centered around gaming, where you can meet new people and spend time together. Our café is also available for private game parties. If you are planning a distinctive celebration with friends or colleagues, you are welcome to reserve Spielwiese exclusively.

There are six tables for 4–6 people each, as well as two tables for two people. For larger groups, tables can be combined flexibly. Everyone is welcome. Whether you are from Berlin, elsewhere in Germany, or anywhere in the world, regardless of religion, sexual orientation, or political views, this is a place to meet and spend time together. You may also borrow games to take home and enjoy with family and friends.

Sustainability is an important principle for us. In addition to using green electricity, our drinks menu mainly features products with short delivery routes and, whenever possible, organic origin. We aim to avoid products from large international corporations and instead support small local suppliers and cooperatives. Our game lending model also follows this principle. Games are played regularly rather than gathering dust on shelves. By trying games before purchasing them, you can decide whether they suit your preferences and avoid unnecessary purchases.

At Spielwiese, you will find games from almost every genre, with the exception of role-playing games, tabletop systems, and collectible card games. Our aim is to offer a diverse selection and introduce you to engaging titles.

Spielwiese is open Monday and Wednesday from 6 pm to 11 pm, Friday from 7 pm to midnight, and Saturday from 3 pm to midnight. On Monday and Wednesday, we host an open game night. The fee is €5 per person for the entire evening. On Friday and Saturday, the fee is €4 per person for the first hour and €2 for each additional hour.
